Dr. Denis Marier, ND, MA is a registered Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine with a practice focus in mind-body medicine, ecopsychology, trauma and inherited tramua, naturopathic oncology and naturopathic palliative care. Denis is committed to educating and empowering individuals on their wellness journey. Much of his healing has happened through sharing his story in Sacred Circles, group and individual therapy.
Denis also hosts a podcast entitled "Groomed". Established in late 2020, he leads his listeners on a journey of his own personal experience of being groomed by a sexual predator in conversation with his oldest friend, John Conlon. These series of episodes demonstrate how pre- mediated the grooming process is with Marier’s authentic recall of the seemingly innocuous circumstances in the beginning. By sharing, we can alert young kids, parents, teachers and other vested allies in the hopes of preventing this type of thing from happening again. Opening up the dialogue in this forum makes the topic less taboo and provides a safe place to access resources.
In this episode we dive into:
1. 1 in 6 males are sexually abused in their lifetime
2. De-stigmatizing male sexual abuse
3. Denis' story of how he was groomed by a highschool teacher and the outcome
4. Spreading awareness and healing for this population
